Under the title “Helping people with special needs,” the World Assembly of Muslim Youth is helping more than 250 people with special needs to perform the Haj this year. “This project, which has been organized for the first time, helps people with special needs to perform Haj by providing them with their requirements including specially designed buses to transport them to the holy sites,” said the project supervisor Sameer Abdul Rahman. Pilgrims with special needs this year are grateful to King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, who has provided them with special vehicles to the Jamrat Bridge for the ritual of stoning the devil. “This year King Abdullah made available 10 small buses to take pilgrims with special needs to Al-Jamrat,” Abdul Rahman said. – SG Meanwhile, a number of Boy Scouts, who themselves are physically impaired, have been rendering a helping hand to the pilgrims with special needs. “The Ministry of Education this year has sent 19 Boy Scouts all of whom are hearing-impaired to work at the hospitals in Mina,” Abdul Rahman added.
