Over 100 barbers trained by the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) have proved their efficiency and commitment to health regulations at their center in Mina. The center of Saudi barbers functioned in the midst of chaotic barbershops around the Jamrat Bridge. Most of these shops totally ignored the hygiene guidelines issued by the authorities. Hasan Al-Korbi, supervisor at the barber shops project, said the well-equipped center set up by the TVTC enabled the Saudi barbers to make SR1500 to SR2500 a day. Eng. Hasan Ghandour, Al-Korbi's deputy, commended the Saudi barbers' commitment to abide by the health regulations. Makkah Mayoralty teams apprehended several barbers for violating residency laws and ignoring health guidelines. Ghandour said violators will be fined and punished, noting that legal barbers in Mina and Makkah were all allowed to function only after producing health certificates proving that they did not suffer from any contagious disease.
