Class B player, Jeff Jimenez managed to beat his challenger, Vicky Vitug in the final stepladder match to capture the coveted Masters title in the just concluded FBGR Pre-Haj Eid Bowlfest'08 at the Intercon Riyadh Bowling Alley. Jimenez finished first after the six games played in the top 36 master's event competition and he was followed by Vicky Vitug, Edwin Nunez, Arnold Quindara and Cas Encila. Quindara defeated Nunez and Encila in the first shootout game by posting 223 to set the pace against finisher No. 2 Vicky Vitug. Encila and Nunez scored 187 and 151 to secure the third and fourth runners-up, respectively. In the next match between Quiranda and finisher No. 2 Vitug, Vitug won by scoring 201-177. Quiranda secured the second runner-up place. The exciting game between Vitug and the top finisher, Jeffy Jimenez finished at 202-188, in favor of Jimenez to romp away with the masters event title while Vitug stood first runner-up. Jimenez won a cash prize of SR2,000, trophy and dinner for two at the Intercon Pavilion Restaurant while Vitug pocketed a cash prize of SR1,000 and trophy. Quiranda, Encila and Nunez also won cash prizes and trophies. In the Team event competition, the Ericsson-The Manila Bistro captured the title. Ericsson-The Manila team was composed of Emil Rances, Rocky Manipon, Ric Tugonon and Bobby Jamora. Landing in second place was the Fuji Elevator team (Jerry Austria, Chito Llagas, Wilson Bacala and Leo Mabunga). Unica Uno (Ronald Bautista, Armin Isles, Andro Tismo and Jeff Jimenez) took the next spot. In the doubles event, the pair of Emil Rances and Rocky Manipon captured the title while landing in the second place were Gigi Enriquez and Atoi Ramos. Andro Tismo and Jeff Jimenez placed third. Benito Santos splashed his old form to bag the singles event title while Ellen Bernabe and Jove Marano secured the second and third spots respectively. The All events title was won by Benito Santos while the runners-up were Ellen Bernabe and Jeff Jimenez. The opening and awarding ceremony was graced by officials from sponsors. Alkarawan Ind. Co. Ltd. Was represented by its President and CEO Se Kyun Kim and Al-Nawakhz Trading Est. while Treasure Island was represented by Fathi Abdulaziz. During the opening ceremony, the FBGR tendered a farewell ceremony for Wilson and Laura Ringor who are leaving the Kingdom for good. Gift items and certificates of appreciation were handed to them by FBGR Chairman Jerry Austria. The champions and runners-up in each event won cash prize and elegant trophies while the raffle items were donated by Fathi Abdulaziz and Wilson and Laura Ringor couple.
