Saudi Gazette report JAZAN — Three residents were arrested for spying on high-profile security officials and for taking pictures of Saudi military bases, Makkah Arabic daily reported on Saturday. A source said the police were able to track them through their cellphones. Meanwhile, two infiltrators were arrested and confessed they were members of the Houthi rebel group. Jazan Border Guard chief Maj. Gen. Mahya Al-Otaibi said the border guards arrest an average of two infiltrators a day. He added the Houthis and Al-Qaeda are just two sides of one coin. Jazan Border Guard Operations Acting Head Col. Salim Al-Shihry said the Jazan Border Guard Command and Control Center is working around the clock. Authorities nab police shooting suspect Security services have detained a Saudi citizen on suspicion of shooting dead two policemen and wounding two others in separate attacks in Riyadh on Wednesday and in March, the Interior Ministry announced on Saturday. Police found the weapon and car used for the shootings at the home of Rami Abdullah Thulab Al-Shammari, according to a ministry statement. Three other Saudi citizens and two Yemenis, one of whom was living in the Kingdom illegally, have also been detained on suspicion of trying to help Shammari flee the country. He was detained in Jazan, the Interior Ministry said. Riyadh's police spokesman said on March 30 that shots fired from an unidentified car had injured two policemen in a patrol car late the previous night, and said on Wednesday that two policemen had been killed after a similar attack.
