THE annual Middle East Education and Training Exhibition and Symposium (MEETES ‘08), opens Monday (March 10) at the Jeddah International Exhibition & Convention Center and will continue until Thursday. This is the Kingdom's 13th International Event for Education, Training, Human Resources, Equipment, Aids and Services, which is being inaugurated by the governor of Technical & Vocational Training Corporation Dr. Ali Bin Nasser Al-Ghafis on Madina Road at 5 p.m. on Monday. It features exhibitors from around the globe with a range of exhibits covering distance learning, universities, polytechnics, private schools, language schools and centers, audiovisual and computer training and software, vocational education and training, educational equipment and supplies, textbooks and curricula, educational furniture and systems. Over 150 educational institutions are participating at Meetes '08 with major groups from Malaysia, the UK, Cyprus and Canada and individual participants from Australia, New Zealand, France, Switzerland, Ireland, Germany, India and the Arab world taking part in the show alongside Saudi government organizations and educational institutions. A high profile parallel symposium is also scheduled, like in the previous years, featuring prominent speakers addressing topical education and career issues.
