For the first time during a Haj season, the Municipality of Makkah has set up a special location for pharmacies and ATM machines to help the pilgrims.
Hashem Abdul Rahman, Director of Investment in Makkah Municipality, said: “This year we aim to provide the services that pilgrims need such as bakeries, barbers, ATM machines and pharmacies.”
In Mina, there are six pharmacies and eight ATM machines making it convenient for the pilgrims to find the things they need.
The municipality this year has also established authorized areas for goods to be sold so that pilgrims can easily shop for their necessities in one place.
“This year the municipality has earmarked 300 sites for selling goods to pilgrims. These locations were established in close coordination with security officials,” Abdul Rahman said.
He added that these sites were selected only after careful study in order to ensure that they are safe, do not cause congestion, and do not affect the movement of pilgrims.
