Saudi Gazette report WASHINGTON — A record 16,000 Saudi students will graduate from US universities this academic season. The Saudi Cultural Mission in the US is planning a graduation ceremony and job fair on this occasion, the Saudi Press Agency said on Saturday. “The event aims to celebrate Saudi students who have completed their scholarship program successfully and who will contribute to the national development process,” said Saudi Cultural Attaché in Washington Muhammad Bin Abdullah Al-Issa. More than 120 employers from the public and private sectors — including Saudi universities, ministries, banks and airlines — will participate in the job fair to attract scholarship graduates, said Assistant Attaché for Cultural and Social Affairs Modhi Bint Abdullah Al-Khalaf. She said: “The event will feature for the second year in a row the participation of the National Institute for Entrepreneurship, which will present an initiative called ‘Start up' through Tamakun (empowerment) for young people who want to start commercial projects.” Some 130 pavilions equipped to conduct personal interviews with job applicants will be set up. Meanwhile, 91 male and female Saudi doctors this year took part in the American Medical Fellowship Program as compared to 80 last year. There is strong competition from doctors around the world to be accepted in the program.
