DETROIT — Zach Trotman's first NHL goal with 2:08 remaining earned Boston Bruins a rousing come-from-behind victory over Detroit Red Wings 3-2 at Joe Louis Arena, lifting the Bruins into a third-place tie with their opponents in the Atlantic Division. Center Carl Soderberg had a goal and an assist and right winger Loui Eriksson also scored for Boston (40-25-13). Right wingers Reilly Smith and Brett Connolly had two assists each and goalie Tuukka Rask made 35 saves. Center Stephen Weiss had a goal and an assist and right winger Luke Glendening scored for Detroit (40-24-13), who enjoyed a 2-0 lead early in the third. Goaltender Petr Mrazek made 22 saves. Senators 2, Lightning 1 (OT) Defenseman Patrick Wiercioch scored with a slap shot from the top of the right-wing faceoff circle 16.9 seconds from the end of overtime to give Ottawa victory over Tampa Bay at Canadian Tire Centre. The victory allowed the Senators to keep pace with the Boston Bruins, who defeated the Detroit Red Wings. Ottawa still trails Boston by three points in the race for the final wild card spot in the East, although they have a game in hand.
