RIYADH — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman inaugurated an exhibition and a seminar on the late King Fahd in Riyadh Tuesday evening. The two-week event titled ‘The Spirit of Leadership' is organized by the sons of the late King Fahd in collaboration with the King Abdulaziz Foundation. Addressing the gathering King Salman said: “I am honored tonight to be with you in celebrating Fahd Bin Abdulaziz, who was like a father-figure to me. I grew up under his care. I thank the sons of King Fahd for this event. I am very proud to be a brother of Fahd.” On Wednesday, the first day of the seminar, three papers were presented titled: “The Efforts of King Fahd in Serving Islam,” “King Fahd and the Nurturing of Islamic Affairs,” “King Fahd and Foreign Policy.” Some 29 speakers and researchers will present 40 papers and studies over seven sessions. This is in addition to the activities for families, youth and children and 55 training workshops on the “Qualities of Leadership for Youth” and “Nurturing of Leadership in the Child,” under the supervision of 25 trainers with an attendance of 2,500 participants. The exhibition also contains a child laboratory. It includes an interactive display which presents the biography of King Fahd from his birth until his death, his personal belongings, decorations and badges, official documents, several manuscripts, documentaries and 1,000 images, some of them published for the first time. “The Encyclopedia on King Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud” prepared by the King Abdul Aziz Foundation (Darah) in 10 volumes and four new books and publications were also launched during the opening ceremony. The organizing committee for the exhibition and seminars has created a website (www.kingfahad.sa) which was launched by Prince Muhammad Bin Fahd. The website contains incidents from all stages of King Fahd's life. It displays rare photographs in addition to documentaries and video clips that record a huge part of his career as a leader.
