About 300 pressmen from various parts of the world are covering Haj season this year. They represent Arab, Islamic and international television channels, news agencies, newspapers and broadcasting stations. The information centers prepared by the Ministry of Culture and Information at Arafat and Mina witnessed hectic movements by the pressmen who compete with each other in the coverage of the movements of the pilgrims. In an interview to Al-Jazeera channel, Saleh Muhammad Al-Namlah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture and Information, said the ministry was, for the last three years, focusing on television coverage. However, that focus, was not to rule out other media outlets like newspapers and web portals, he said.
