Saudi Gazette report JEDDAH — The Ministry of Health reported 10 new Middle East Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) cases from March 22 to 28. The ministry said the victims were aged between 20 and 65. There were three coronavirus cases in Riyadh and Jeddah respectively and one each in Makkah, Taif, Najran and the Northern Borders region. One of the patients, aged 55, has made a complete recovery and no deaths have occurred among the remaining 9. The ministry also recorded two new coronavirus patients in Jeddah on Monday. The first patient was an expatriate medical staff member aged 63. He was treated in a public hospital and his condition is now stable. The second patient was a 60-year-old Saudi. He was admitted to a public hospital when he began to show symptoms of the disease. He is still undergoing treatment and his condition is unstable. Since the virus was first discovered in the Kingdom in September 2012, it has affected as many as 980 people of whom 421 have died.
