Global biometric revenues are projected to grow from SR11 billion in 2007 to SR27.19 billion in 2012. The key areas for growth include fingerprint non-AFIS biometrics followed by face recognition at and iris recognition. Asia and the Middle East in particular are expected to be the largest global markets for biometric products and services. Biometric technologies that will be displayed at Intersec trade fair and conference include areas such as fingerprint scan, face recognition, automated fingerprint identification systems (AFIS)/live-scan, iris recognition, middleware/biometric identity management software, vein recognition, multiple-biometric, hand geometry and voice recognition. “The biometric segment of our show will have widespread appeal to those involved in law enforcement, military, municipalities, federal government, financial services, hospitality, health care, high-tech and telecom, industrial manufacturing, retail as well as transportation,” said Schierholz.
