CAIRO — Egyptian military experts supported Operation Decisive Storm and called for its continuation to protect Yemen, the Arab region and the Middle East.
The Kingdom and the allied country's air force's initiative against the Houthis was encouraged and praised by the entire Arab world as it was a step towards the restoration of peace in Yemen.
Nassir Military Academy consultant Maj. Gen. Othman Kamel called for the continuation of Operation Decisive Storm against the Houthis.
“Yemen was undergoing a period of destruction and chaos which spread terror among the Yemeni people. What the Kingdom and its allied GCC countries have done was take an initiative towards peace in Yemen and its neighboring countries,” said Kamel.
He added the Houthis may be a small group of terrorists but they are supported by Iranian forces externally and former President Ali Abdullah Saleh supporters internally.
“The destruction of some of the Houthis military installations is a clear statement of what the Yemeni people want. They want peace and stability and they want to restore their country to normalcy. The Saudi Air Force has secured the country at the borders. The Houthis have crossed the line when they tried to invade Bab El-Mandab strait” said Kamel.
Strategic military expert Maj. Gen. Hamdi Bikhait said the Kingdom's foreign policy was wise to attack the Houthis military installations aerially.
“The attack against the Houthis military installation was an important move while also making a military statement. It did not only cause destruction on the battlefield, but also acted as a warning to Iran and showed it that the Arab forces are not too weak for the Houthis,” said Bikhait.
He added the Arab Alliance will stand against anything that jeopardizes its national, regional and international safety and Operation Decisive Storm was a response to Abedrabbu Mansour Hadi's request for defense forces against the Houthis.
Another military expert Maj. Gen. Mahmoud Khalaf said the continuation of Operation Decisive Storm is paramount for the safety of the southern part of the Arabian Peninsula.
“We do not need nor want another predicament or situation similar to Syria, Iraq and Libya. The attack targeted over 70 percent of the Houthis aerial forces. The Arab Summit will definitely remark the Kingdom's initiative. The Arab Alliance against the Houthis is just the beginning of a bigger alliance to protect the Arab region,” said Khalaf.
He added the Arab world is under threat of a bigger conspiracy than the Houthis that has been in the works for a long time.
“Al-Hazm Storm (Operation Decisive Storm) aims to restore peace in Yemen, the Arab region and the Middle East. It is a movement against the Iranian invasion of the Arab region. The operation was also very timely, preceding the Arab Summit to unite the Arabs and their vision and stand against Iran, the true power behind the Houthis,” said Khalaf.
