The body of a man in his 30s, who appeared to have been strangled, was found in a makeshift room made of iron sheets next to his home in a village of Tanoumah Rural Center on Saturday. The police found a shroud with Qur'anic verses about death written on it near the corpse. A Criminal Investigations Department (CID) team from Asir Police and a forensic doctor arrived at the scene and took the body to conduct investigations. Col. Abdullah Bin Ayidh Al-Qarni, spokesperson of Asir Police, said Tanoumah Police received a report of the discovery of the dead man, and a police team was dispatched to collect evidence including lifting of fingerprints from the scene. The dead man was reportedly suffering from some psychological disorder and suicide has not been ruled out.
