The Ministry of Health has announced that the health condition of the pilgrims was good, and no incidence of epidemics has been reported. Dr. Khalid Marghalani, Health Ministry's spokesman, urged the pilgrims to report to the nearest health facility if faced with health problems so as to receive appropriate medical treatment. The Ministry of Health has made the required arrangements at the hospitals of Mina for extending the best possible services to the guests of Allah, he noted. There are four hospitals with a capacity of 582 beds. The number of beds can be increased by 160 if needed. All medical specialities are available at these hospitals and health centers. Moreover, Dr. Marghalani said, the ministry has prepared plans for medical emergency evacuation as well as for treating infectious and epidemic cases. Meanwhile, Minister of Health Dr. Hamad Al-Mane' on Friday night inspected hospitals in holy sites, and was briefed on the services extended by the hospitals to pilgrims. Dr. Al-Mane reiterated the readiness of the hospitals to provide the guests of Allah with the required medical services, noting that the hospitals have been provided with the required qualified cadres and medical equipment. He urged the personnel of the health sectors to extend all possible services to the pilgrims. The health ministry has set up seven hospitals and 74 health centers in the holy sites. He added there will be more than 235 ambulances engaged in rescue operations. The ministry has ensured adequate number of specialized medical personnel in areas of intensive care, emergency and heart diseases.About 100 doctors, including 40 from within the Kingdom, have been assigned to visit the camps of the pilgrims to deal with emergency cases. Besides, 147 nurses have also been deployed for the purpose, the minister said.
