NEW YORK — After falling behind early, the Los Angeles Kings put forth a dominant effort in a 4-2 win against the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden Tuesday. Rangers' right-winger Mats Zuccarello scored during the game's first minute, but defenseman Robyn Regehr, left-winger Marian Gaborik, center Jeff Carter and defenseman Jake Muzzin responded with four consecutive goals for the Kings. Center Kevin Hayes scored with 3:44 remaining to cut the Rangers' deficit to two goals. Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick allowed the first shot of the game to beat him before stopping the next 34 of 35 to earn the victory. Predators 3, Canadiens 2 (OT): In a matchup of arguably the NHL's top goalies this season, Nashville's Pekka Rinne outdueled the Montreal's Carey Price at a sold-out Bridgestone Arena. Center Filip Forsberg and defensemen Ryan Ellis and Mattias Ekholm scored for Nashville, while Rinne made 27 saves. Center David Desharnais and right-winger Brendan Gallagher scored for Montreal while Price made 28 saves in the losing effort. Blues 3, Penguins 2 (OT): Left-winger Alex Steen tipped in a shot by defenseman Zbynek Michalek 35 seconds into overtime to lift St. Louis over Pittsburgh. The Penguins got goals 17 seconds apart in the second period by left-winger Blake Comeau and right-winger Steve Downie. Two players who were traded by Pittsburgh to St. Louis during the season — defenseman Robert Bortuzzo and center Marcel Goc — scored later in the second for a 2-2 tie. Wild 2, Islanders 1 (SO): Left-winger Zach Parise scored the game-tying goal in the third period and scored the only goal in the shootout, lifting Minnesota over the New York Islanders at Nassau Coliseum. Minnesota goalie Devan Dubnyk, who made his club-record 32nd consecutive start, recorded 37 saves in regulation and overtime before preventing all three Islanders skaters from scoring in the shootout. The Wild are 24-6-2 since acquiring Dubnyk from the Arizona Coyotes on Jan. 14. Blue Jackets 5, Ducks 3: Left-winger Scott Hartnell scored his eighth career hat trick and Columbus won its fourth straight game over Anaheim at Nationwide Arena. Hartnell had his sixth multi-goal game of the season for the Blue Jackets, while center Ryan Johansen had a goal and an assist and left-wing Nick Foligno had a goal. Blue Jackets goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 31 of 34 shots for his 23rd win. Lightning 4, Panthers 3: Right-winger Ryan Callahan beat Florida goalie Roberto Luongo with 2:24 left as Tampa Bay rallied from a third-period deficit for a victory at Amalie Arena. Coyotes 5, Red Wings 4 (OT): Center Mark Arcobello's second goal of the game, with 1:52 left in overtime, gave Arizona a win against Detroit at Joe Louis Arena. — Reuters
