up occurred in the standings of the 22nd Inter-Company Bowling League as lesser-known teams took the spotlight last week at Jeddah Lanes. A slumping Jeddah Bowlers team finally found its touch as it stormed back into contention after earning the team of the week honors on the strength of 2,949 total pin falls and 47 points. Sammy Ocampo played consistently throughout with a 3-game series of 607. Able support came from A. Baylon (606), G. Dasas (574), Leo Edejer (579) and Rey Beltran (557). Obie Ycasas also pitched in the first game with a 202. After dropping to 7th position, the Jeddah Bowlers move up to the fourth spot and now have a mathematical chance to catch up with the league leaders where only the top 3 finishers of the tournament are assured of a seat in the step-ladder championship format. The V Express bowling team also gained some momentum in its quest for an outright semifinals berth bowling its hearts out to a high 1,117 team pin falls in the third canto to finish with a whopping total series of 3,042 pin falls. But its below par showing in the second game negated its chance to earn the team of the week honors as it only managed to accumulate a total of 44 points. Veteran bowler Cris Villavelez, showed the way for V Express with a series of 626 on lines of 205, 198 and 223 while Mark Peterson and Ray Thompson contributed heavily in the third canto with scores of 256 and 216 respectively. Meanwhile, the Pa Tsamba bowlers continued to widen their lead against their closest pursuer Nasser Al-Hajri Team B after finishing third for the week with 40 points on account of 2,914 total team pin falls. Leading by a slim margin of 7 points over Nasser Al-Hajri after week 7, Pa Tsamba rode on the game exploits of Hadi Pacheco (606), Cesar Monares (585), Mel Alvarado (585) and Oca Evangelista (583) to maintain a stronghold on the top position while Nasser Al-Hajri Team B managed to accumulate only 26 points for the week. Team standings after 8 weeks: 1. Pa Tsamba (292.5), 2. Nasser Al-Hajri B (271.5), 3. Nasser Al-Hajri A (251.0), 4. Jeddah Bowlers (249.5), 5. Sky Freight-TFC (245.5), 6. V Express (244.5), 7.
