JEDDAH — Forty-six enthusiastic teenagers from International Indian School Jeddah (IISJ) chaperoned by three teachers — Vijender Singh, Rasheed Alikkal and Biju — visited Manali, a beautiful hill station in India, as part of their educational/adventure trip. The 10-day trip also took students to other cities. Educational trips are an important part of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), incorporated in the curriculum for children to rejuvenate. The trip commenced on January 26 with the group's first destination being Delhi. The same night the group departed for Chandigarh, where after taking rest they visited the Rock Garden. The garden is known for featuring everything made out of waste material. They then visited a mall to watch the latest blockbuster "PK" and had lots of fun. The next destination was Manali. After a long overnight journey and an hour's rest, the group then visited the Hadimba temple which is located at the top of a hill. The afternoon was spent in a clubhouse which helped the children relax to take on the adventures of the next day — river crossing, para gliding and skiing among others. The children also visited the snow-covered Solang Valley. After an adventurous trip in Manali, the children with their teachers headed back to Chandigarh where they went shopping. The group's next stop was Agra, where they went to see the iconic Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, and Salim Chishti ki Dargah among others. After returning to the capital of India, the group went to some prominent places in Delhi like Qutub Minar, Red Fort, Jama Masjid among others. — SG
