Saudi and US officials have signed a science and technology cooperation agreement that includes nuclear energy technology. Assistant Secretary of State for Oceans, Environment, and Science Claudia McMurray says the agreement will allow greater agency-to-agency cooperation in a range of scientific and technological fields. The agreement was signed Tuesday. Prince Turki Bin Saud, vice president of the King Abdul Aziz City for Science and Technology, says those fields include nuclear energy. There were no other details available on the nuclear issue. The agreement formalises a decades-long, low-key relationship between the two countries involving between numerous US technical agencies, academic institutions and private business.
