NEW YORK — The Ducks got assists from new-comers Tomas Fleischmann and Simon Despres and two goals from left-winger Andrew Cogliano in a comprehensive 4-1 win over the Arizona Coyotes Tuesday.
One of the busiest teams at the trade deadline, the victory ensured the Ducks (41-17-7) moved into a tie with Nashville for the NHL and Western Conference leads on 89 points.
Devils 3, Predators 1: Defensemen Adam Larsson and Eric Gelinas each scored a goal in the first four minutes of the game and goalie Cory Schneider made it stand up by making 33 saves, leading the New Jersey Devils to victory over the Nashville Predators.
The Devils (27-27-10) moved to within seven points of Boston for the final wild card slot in the Eastern Conference playoff race.
The Predators (41-17-7) still own a share of the NHL's best record, but lost for the fourth straight time.
Capitals 5, Blue Jackets 3: Alex Ovechkin scored two goals, his 12th multi-goal game of the season, to lead the Washington Capitals to a win over the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Ovechkin now has 10 game-winning goals and 43 goals on the season for Washington (35-20-10), both NHL-leading tallies.
Blue Jackets goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky returned after a six-week absence with a groin injury. He finished with 28 saves.
Sharks 6, Canucks 2: Matt Nieto scored twice, the second an empty-netter, and added an assist as the San Jose Sharks built an early lead and went on to defeat the Vancouver Canucks.
The Sharks (32-25-8) scored three goals on their first four shots to chase starting Vancouver goaltender Jacob Markstrom to the bench.
Henrik Sedin scored twice for Vancouver (36-24-3), giving him 901 NHL points and extending his points streak to eight games.
Flames 3, Flyers 2 (OT): Jiri Hudler scored the game-winning goal at 3:37 of the extra session to lead Calgary past Philadelphia.
Sean Monahan and Mikael Backlund also potted goals, while goalie Karri Ramo made 35 saves as Calgary (34-25-4) survived a comeback from Philadelphia (27-25-12) who erased a 2-0 deficit to force OT.
Stars 3, Islanders 2 (OT): Cody Eakin had a goal and an assist, including the game-winner 2:18 into overtime, as the Dallas Stars ended a six-game winless streak by defeating the New York Islanders. Kari Lehtonen made 35 saves to help defeat the Islanders (41-21).
Lightning 3, Sabres 0: Tampa Bay backup goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy made 28 saves, earning his first career shutout as the Lightning topped Buffalo. Lightning (39-20-6) starter Ben Bishop took a puck below the belt in Tuesday's morning skate, forcing 20-year-old rookie Vasilevskiy into action. Steven Stamkos netted his 36th goal of the season in the win.
Maple Leafs 3, Panthers 2: Peter Holland scored with 14:32 left in the third period for the game-winner and the Toronto Maple Leafs rallied for a win over the Florida Panthers, who sustained two goalie injuries Jonathan Bernier made 40 saves for Toronto, while Florida's Roberto Luongo sustained an apparent neck or shoulder injury in the first period and returned in the third after backup Al Montoya sustained an unspecified injured.
Wild 3, Senators 2 (SO): Mikko Koivu, Jason Pominville and Charlie Coyle scored in a five-round shootout for the Minnesota Wild as Andrew Hammond's unbeaten run in goal for the Ottawa Senators came to an end.
