Gosaibi, Minister of Labor, on Monday said the Kingdom was not a recruitment agency and all jobs should be reserved for Saudi nationals only. He said unemployment of Saudi nationals has always been troubling the officials. Dr. Al-Gosaibi was addressing a ceremony where 20 labor inspectors including five women from Makkah, Jeddah, Madina, Taif and Yanbu took oath before him. In his speech, Dr. Al-Gosaibi said there were very few jobs which necessitate taking oath. “This means you are the only employees in the Civil Service whose job nature necessitates taking an oath before Almighty Allah. This proves the importance of your task. As such, you should treat yourselves as judges and you should not take sides,” he said. Dr. Al-Gosaibi said the attributed decline in unemployment rate to concerted efforts and the mega projects which have absorbed tens of thousands of Saudis. The global economic crisis will affect several countries including those exporting workers to the Kingdom, he said. “This means there will be a flow of workers to the Kingdom and they may work for low wages constituting an imminent danger to Saudization strategy.
