Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, Emir of Makkah Region and Chairman of the Central Haj Committee, on Monday stressed that authorities will implement the “no permit no Haj” rule strictly and no laxity will be allowed. Meanwhile, Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Supreme Haj Committee, will conduct Wednesday afternoon his annual inspection tour of the holy sites to check security arrangements. In a statement following an inspection tour of the holy sites, Prince Khaled said the system for Haj permits has not been introduced for the first time. “It has been in place for several years now,” he maintained. He said Prince Naif has directed that the rule should be implemented strictly. Prince Khaled was happy that both citizens and residents have shown an understanding on the importance of the system. This understanding is visible keeping in view the large number of people applying for the permits this year, he said. Further, he said, all were expected to respect the law of the land. The Emir said his office welcomes any observation coming from any establishment or institution related to pilgrims' services. There are several committees positioned in all holy sites to monitor services to the pilgrims, he said. He said the services and arrangements are excellent and hoped that this year's Haj will be easy and comfortable. Prince Khaled's tour included the developmental project of Jamrat bridge, the operation room of the Civil Defense in Makkah and the plain of Arafat. He commended the projects on which the government has spent generously to provide the best services for pilgrims. The Emir later chaired a meeting of the Central Haj Committee and discussed preparations and arrangements for Haj.
