Chairing the weekly Cabinet meeting, King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, ordered the opening of social protection units in some regions and a comprehensive strategy to deal with family violence. He also directed the Ministry of Education to include in school curricula concepts of tolerance and rejection of violence. The Council of Ministers also directed the Ministry of Labor to make it mandatory for companies employing more than 100 workers to pay their salaries through the Saudi Payments Network (SPAN) and consulting their employees about methods more suitable to them. In the meeting, King Abdullah denounced the terrorist attacks in Mumbai, India, that killed 195 civilians and conveyed his condolences to the victims' families, the Indian government and its people. Iyad Amin Madani, Minister of Culture and Information, said the Cabinet stressed the importance of confronting this terrorist phenomenon through the unification of international efforts which the Kingdom has always been calling for as manifested in the international anti-terrorism conference held in 2004 in Riyadh at the invitation of King Abdullah himself. Madani said the Cabinet listened to a detailed report from the Minister of Haj on the arrival of pilgrims and services being rendered to them.
