Blakes' Gulf team widens with hiring of Quigley
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 17 - 02 - 2015

Michael Quigley

DR. Saud Al-Ammari Law Firm, in association with Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP (Blakes), a leading business law firm, announced the continued expansion of its Gulf-based legal team with Michael Quigley, a senior international corporate finance lawyer, joining the partnership.

Quigley joins Blakes in its Al-Khobar office. His extensive experience in the Gulf, New York and Europe with major New York and London-based international law firms makes him an important senior addition to our growing team of international and regional legal experts based in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and in the GCC.

Quigley is a highly reputed corporate finance lawyer with experience in the development and financing of a variety of infrastructure projects including power, water, oil & gas and pipeline projects in Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia and Africa. He recently advised on the largest IPP in Morocco to date. He also has significant experience in large LBO financings, including senior, second lien and mezzanine facilities, and has additional experience in sovereign debt-related transactions, including experience working with the European Stability Mechanism. In addition to his finance experience, Quigley has advised clients in connection with a variety of corporate transactions, and advised a Middle Eastern country in its successful bid to host an annual round of the Formula One World Championship.

A member of the New York and Paris bars, Quigley engages in transactions in both common law and civil law contexts.

Dr. Saud Al-Ammari, Chair, Saudi Arabia & Gulf Region at Blakes, said “we are delighted to welcome Michael to our team in the Gulf. His move to Blakes is part of our deep commitment to bringing top talent to the region and to ensuring our clients are able to access the best international standard legal advice right here on the ground. We welcome Michael back to the region and believe that his range of finance, infrastructure project and other experience will be an added advantage to our Gulf-based clients and the Blakes' global network, which we aim to put at the disposal of our clients around the world including those here in the Middle East." — SG
