High-level technical experts and key industry professionals from around the globe strongly supported the outcome of the recently concluded three-day SAOGE 2008 in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. Tamer Elwa, country manager of ElSewedy Cables, said the forum was a great opportunity for both the participating national and global companies as the exchange of information and sharing of experiences paved for enhanced economic cooperation. It also led to forging of investment alliances, he added. During the exhibition and forum, healthy liaisons developed among specialists in the industry, especially between exporters and importers, which contributed to stronger trade ties. Rania Farouk, director for international marketing, ElSewedy Cables, underscored the importance of the forum, saying that more discussions are necessary, especially in the oil and gas sector, so that new products and techniques will evolve to serve the interests of both the local and the global oil industry. Pointing out that the recently concluded forum is one of the largest exhibitions in the oil and gas in the world, she said the new information and ideas achieved from sharing various experiences in the industry would serve as encouragement for finding better technology and more efficient utilization of resources in the sector. “The exchange of information, ideas and viewpoints is essential for the continued growth of the industry, and SAOGE represents an excellent venue for just that,” Abdulla Abdul Aziz Al-Naim, vice president, Petroleum Engineering at Saudi Aramco, said in his keynote speech at the conference. ElSewedy Cables is one of the largest cable companies in the world specialized in the manufacture of cables and electrical equipment. Its factory is the first-of-its-kind in the Middle East and Africa in terms of quality and quantity of production of electric power and dry transformers.
