Mohammed Asghar Khan will head the managing committee of the International Indian School Dammam (IISD). In a meeting at the school premises last week, the seven newly elected members unanimously voted for Khan as the chairman. Khan, who belongs to the Indian state of Jharkhand, bagged most of the votes in the general elections held earlier. Eastern Province foreign education director, Mubarak Bubshaith, supervisors Khalid Al Ruwai and Hussain, and second secretary to the Indian Embassy, Amit Mishra observed the elections of one of the largest schools in the Kingdom. Speaking to Saudi Gazette, Khan said that he would continue the good work of his predecessors in maintaining high academic standards and would try to improve the quality of education. “Though the school is in its uphill phase in terms of development, there are still many issues that need to be improved and I would try my best to tackle all concerns for the smooth functioning of the school,” he said. “I will ensure transparency in all matters of the school's functioning and be approachable to all parents,” he said. Khan works in Al-Itthifaq Steel Products Company as an assistant manager in the quality assurance section and is working in the Kingdom for 11 years. He is a post-graduate in Mathematics. Khan's son and daughter are studying at the IISD. Other committee members are: Dr. Saleem ur Rahman, Mohammed Fayazuddin, Aboobacker Kunnathuparambil, John Thomas, Dr. Shamshad Ahmed, and S.
