Ahli Club Jeddah extended its chances for the GCC Champions League title with a 1-0 victory over Al-Nasr Club at the Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal stadium here Friday. International striker Hassan Al-Raheb emerged as the hero as he scored the only goal to boost Al-Ahli's chances in the second leg match on Dec. 3. Friday's first leg clash saw the visitors taking control of the game from the beginning. Despite missing its ace striker Saad Al-Harthi, Al-Nasr almost took the lead after eight minutes when Rayan Bilal received the ball few inches from Al-Ahli goalkeeper but the young striker shot wide. Al-Ahli gradually took the possession, thanks to good moves from Brazilian Harrison and Taiser Al-Jassem. Al-Ahli sounded its first warning in the 17th minute when Al-Jassem's curving free kick missed the net of Al-Nasr goalkeeper Kamel Al-Wabari. In the 34th minute, Hassan Al-Raheb broke the deadlock after he headed Harrison's corner to the right side of Al-Wabari. Resuming the second half with one goal lead Al-Ahli looked well set while Al-Nasr struggled to break Al-Ahli's defense. Al-Nasr midfielder Alton created many gaps in Al-Ahli rearline but poor finishing by strikers killed the Brazilian's efforts. Substitute Mohammed Al-Shahrani had a 60th minute attempt when he sent a free kick just few inches from the left post of Al-Ahli goalkeeper. Al-Nasr coach Radan tried his best from the bench but the substitute players failed to rise up to the occasion. Al-Ahli will now travel to Riyadh for the Dec. 3 second leg final at the King Fahd International Stadium. __
