MAKKAH — The General Presidency for the Two Holy Mosques Affairs has added two new passageways for Umrah performers to reach the circumambulation area (mataf) to facilitate entry and exit and prevent crowding. The new passageways were announced due to the closure of the gates of the Grand Mosque from the southern courtyard for the third stage of the mataf expansion project. Each passageway has four lanes, two of which have escalators.
