Published in The Saudi Gazette on 27 - 01 - 2015

MOBILY's program for Cloud Computing has contributed to the development of computing services in the Kingdom, where Mobily has worked to create all the factors that ensure the provision of high quality services to its customers and subscribers.

Mobily relied in providing this first program of its kind in the region on qualifying a high reliability infrastructure where the investments amounted to SAR 5 billion, including the establishment of 42 data centers in the different regions of the Kingdom. Mobily also entered into global partnerships such as Virtustream, Oracle, IBM and Intel.

Accordingly, Mobily is considered the first company in the Middle East and Turkey that offers Cloud Computing services certified by Intel International.

Mobily's program for Cloud Computing was designed to improve the delivery of service to the market, and it is also regarded the first market cloud computing platform in the region where it has a portfolio of various services provided. It also allows partners to use their own solutions and applications and acquire new vision about Mobily's innovative systems that provide the customers ready-made technical solutions.

About 30 partners have already joined this program since it was launched in June 2014. These partners were classified into different categories namely: merging and systems integration partner such as SBM, EXA Serve and Nesma companies; consultant partner and applications' partner such as ICT Systems, Xceed, MENA ITEC, Naseej and other companies. Benefits offered to each category vary according to its category, allowing greater flexibility to this program.

The partners offer technical solutions and necessary applications for governmental departments such as ministries of health and education which allow these fundamental departments to overcome all encountered obstacles through technical and untraditional solutions. This can be witnessed in projects like the electronic school executed through Mobily's partnership with ICT Systems and execution of social networks analytical project through Mobily's partnership with Xceed company.

The Cloud Computing partners program represents the corner stone that allows Mobily to enter into strategic alliances to execute several Mega projects such as infrastructure projects for ministries of health and education, recovery of data in case of technical disasters in addition to project management. This allows to Mobily to be a major player in providing integrated communications and information security services in the Kingdom and also to be a global leading service provider in this sector. Cloud computing services is the future of computing utilized globally by the governmental and private sectors where statistics indicate that 60% of banks will depend on cloud computing in banking operations by the end of next year, and that 40% of the services and facilities sector will adopt the concept of “Big Data” which is based on cloud environment.

Mobily's program for Cloud Computing is considered one of the important steps taken by the company in the process of transformation to become an integrated provider of telecommunications and information technology services, and as the first company in the region that adopted this approach. Moreover, Mobily is one of the few corporates in the world that has a clear vision and strategy toward providing integrated solutions for the business sector, such as the communication and data services provided to the individuals.. — SG
