Anber scored twice as Al-Hilal beat its city rival Al-Shabab 2-0 at the Prince Faisal Bin Fahd Stadium in Riyadh on Wednesday. The win reduced the gap between the defending champion and the leader Al-Ittihad to three points especially after Ittihad Jeddah drew 1-1 with Al-Ittifaq in another match of the day at the Eastern Province. Al-Ittihad is on top of the table with 26 points, three points ahead of Al-Hilal while Al-Nasr and Al-Shabab come third and fourth on 18 and 16 points respectively. Al-Anber waited only 22 minutes before he put Al-Hilal ahead thanks to Traq Al-Taib's pass through Al-Shabab defenders. Al-Anber met Al-Taib's pass on the right edge of the box and blasted the ball past Al-Shabab goalkeeper Waleed Abdullah. Al-Shabab took control of the proceedings after the goal but Al-Hilal ace goalkeeper Mohammed Al-Daeyea stood in their way to equalize. In the 52nd minute, Al-Anber received another pass from Al-Taib and shot the ball into the net of Waleed Abdullah. In Dammam, Al-Ittihad saved its unbeaten record in the Saudi League as the it scored a late goal to draw 1-1 with home team Al-Ittifaq. Moroccan striker Sallahu Deen Eqal put Al-Ittifaq ahead in the 6th minute while Egyptian Emad Meteb equalized for Al-Ittihad. The leader Al-Ittihad played about 40 minutes with ten players after defender Redha Tukar was sent off due to an aggressive action against Al-Ittifaq's Waleed Al-Raja.
