The traffic flow of pilgrims on the newly-built Jamrat Bridge will be thoroughly monitored this year as part of the government's ongoing policy to develop its Haj projects for the years to come, said Jabarah Al-Suraisiri, Minister of Transport. His ministry is following up on the transportation plan during this Haj including double checking license of pilgrim vehicles, rental cars, and taxis operating within the holy sitesFacilitating pedestrian movement inside the holy sites has been part of the transportation plan this year, he said. Roads of pedestrian pilgrims will not be blocked by Makkah mountain landslides this Haj season, the minister said. The Makkah-Sail road has been fenced for 10 km to ward off possible dangers, he said. The roads in the northern part of Jeddah Airport have been literally lit up by the spirit of this year's Haj, he said.
