RIYADH — The Board of Senior Scholars has condemned the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo for republishing cartoons insulting the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). In a statement, the scholars said such action had nothing to do with freedom of speech and expression. The board's secretary-general, Fahad Al-Majid, said hurting Muslims' feelings will not solve any problems. “This action serves extremists who are looking for justifications and excuses to kill and terrorize others,” Al-Majid said. “The role of the entire world is to build mutual respect and achieve coexistence without insulting the sacred figures of all religions,” he added.
