A group of Americans and Europeans have launched the opening of a “floating hotel” tourist route between the ports of Sharm El-Sheikh and Nuwaibi' in Egypt and Dhiba in the Saudi Arabian region of Tabuk. Forty-five American and European tourists arrived in Tabuk last week on the first tourist group's visit to the region from the Egyptian port of Sharm El-Sheikh, a route which will now see the arrival of a further 67 tourist trips from America and European countries in collaboration with Egyptian tourist companies. Hasan Al-Harbi, chairman of the organizing company, said the route took visitors along the Red Sea on tourist ships, described as “floating hotels,” which provide a wide range of facilities. He said the route would encourage tourism to Tabuk. The visitors were given a tour of the most prominent ancient sites including Tabuk Fort and Hejaz Railway, and visited the Equestrian Club. Abdullah Bin Muhammad Al-Rizaiq, Director of the Executive Office of the General Commission for Tourism and Antiquities in Tabuk, said the trip would promote investment in the archeological sites and monuments.
