JEDDAH — To celebrate the flavors of traditional Turkish cuisine, an authentic Turkish Food Festival has been organized at Nafoura restaurant of Park Hyatt Jeddah last Wednesday. Park Hyatt Jeddah embarked on a culinary journey with specially flown in chefs from Grand Hyatt Istanbul, Chef Fuat Hamarat and Chef Yunus Alkan, to grace the occasion for 10 consecutive days of December. The festival opened on Wednesday evening and was well attended by guests, mediamen and diplomats. The 10-day food fest showcases a variety of taste and flavor that each region provides to Turkey. There was a galore of dishes cooked in a variety of cooking style, range of flavors and unique tastes. The Turkish Consul General in Jeddah, Fikret Ozir, attended the opening of the Turkish food festival. Ashwini Kumar, general manager of Park Hayat Jeddah, said: “We are very glad to arrange this Turkish food fest and very grateful to Grand Hyatt Istanbul which provided us their chiefs. They (chefs) are authentic Turkish with Turkish cuisine experience in Istanbul hotel. We are going to provide a very authentic delicious Turkish delight and together we have a team of our chefs who are working very closely with them.” He added: “The chefs came from Turkey and brought lot of spices and other stuff from Turkey which they are going to use and showcase a real Turkish delight to the people of Jeddah”. The 10-day fest will display everyday different flavours of Turkish cuisine, he added. Media men and diplomats were greeted with Turkish Ayran, which was a refreshing start, followed by an array of authentic Turkish dishes. The guest chefs served their favorite delicacies, including Adana and Urfa kebab along with a variety of bread. Visitors ended their culinary journey with Turkish coffee and delicious honey-soaked baklava by the spectacular waterfront of the Red Sea.
