MAKKAH — A 35-year-old Saudi and a 40-year-old Yemeni women were arrested for allegedly embezzling money from widows and divorcees under the pretext of helping them to buy their own private houses. According to Makkah daily on Thursday, the two women told the victims that they would provide them with accommodation from a rich man who was known for helping needy people. They told them that they should pay SR70,000 to an intermediary if they wanted a villa and SR30,000 for a house. The police said the two women were able to collect more than SR1 million in the process. The police said they have been investigating the case for more than four months after receiving a complaint from a Saudi woman that the two women took SR30,000 from her to provide her with a house before disappearing.
