The Ministry of Health on Saturday launched a especial website in Arabic www.moh.gov.sa/hajj for inquiries about health issues of domestic and overseas pilgrims. Simultaneously a toll free number 8002494444 has been set up for the purpose. The website, launched by Health Minister Dr. Hamad Al-Mane', will provide all information about health facilities available for the pilgrims, said Khalid Al- Mirghalani, Supervisor General for communication and health awareness campaign at the Ministry of Health, at a press conference here. The website provides all information about the requirements of the health ministry before going for Haj, services of the health ministry, information on clinics at the holy sites, information about local information centers, and list of consultants and specialists involved in health program, facilitating online appointment with a physician, information about emergency health centers and hospitals, information about mobile health service, videos on health issues and prevention, maps of the ritual sites, Haj plans, books for pilgrims, health publications and news related to health issues. The ministry has also stressed on the importance of vaccine for flu and meningitis shots. Dr. Ahmad Unni, general physician at Badr-Al-Tamam, said that it was very difficult to prevent getting flu or viral infection, because the virus spreads quickly through coughing and sneezing. Even after vaccination there are some chances of getting infected, he said.
