The standing on Arafat, the main Haj ritual, will be on Dec. 7, Dr. Salah Mahmoud, President of the National Institute for Astronomical and Geophysics Research, said here Friday. He said according to astronomical calculations first day of Eid Al-Adha would be on Dec. 8. He said the crescent of the Dhul Hijja would not be seen in most of the Arab and Islamic countries on Nov. 27, the day set for sighting the crescent. Accordingly, he said. Okaz/SG __
