The four walking, talking turtle brothers, who were trained as martial-arts fighters, first appeared in 1984 in a comic book that sold for $1.50. Those original TMNT comic books now sell for $2,500 - $4,000. Through their movies and TV shows, the Ninja Turtles have become known to children around the world. Their newest film, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” was released in August. In the movie, when New York City is threatened, the Ninja Turtles come out of the shadows to protect their home. They face enemies more dangerous and pizza more delicious than anything they could have imagined! In previous movies, the actors playing the Ninja Turtles wore hot, heavy costumes that sometimes held back their moves. In the new film, the Ninja Turtles burst onto the screen using state-of-the-art performance-capture computer-generated imagery (CGI) technology.
