5 photography apps

Sure, we are all on Instagram to eternalize our special moments, but there are so many other apps in the market that help you remember those extraordinary – and rather average – happenings in your life. And they often include much more than an artsy filter to make every amateur look like a pro. Check out these five photography apps that do a great job making your memories last. All are available for both iOS and Android devices and for free.
Snapseed
Developer: Nik Software, Inc.
This app has some great filters, but it has so much more to it. You can honestly adjust anything, from brightness, saturation and contrast to shadows, warmth and ambiance. Or add a retro touch to your image, increase the blur for a more professionally looking photo, and add a frame to choice. One side note: Any hobbyist or professional photographer will be very satisfied with this app, but for those who look for quick and easy edits this app is perhaps a bit too all-encompassing.
Camera360 Ultimate
Developer: PinGuo Inc.
Want to make more beautiful pictures of people? This app lets you choose a “magic skin,” adding sexy red lips to your model, or a radiant skin. But this app is not only for selfies and portraits. Other enhance features let you make your images more intense, cold, or balanced. Or what about making a sketch of a picture you have taken, or paint your own sky? The good thing about this app is that it lets you choose your filter before you shoot, so you will immediately see if this works with your object or not.
Room for Thought
Developer: Studio Room BV
The makers of Room for Thought want people to stand still every day for a few minutes and capture the ordinary things of life. Every day, the app sends you a message at a random moment of the day, in which it asks you to take a picture. Your device's camera opens automatically and gives you a few seconds to focus, after which it takes a photo. You can edit this photo with a number of filters, add a caption, and share it on other apps like Facebook and Twitter. Following months of taking photos you will have a unique album of your daily life, which you can keep for yourself or share with other users.
Adobe Photoshop Express
Developer: Adobe
This app is everything you would expect from an official photoshop app. It has the most important features you need when editing your phone shots: removing red eyes, applying numerous filters, sharpen a photo, and adjust highlights, shadows, temperatures, tint, and vibrance. For those who want more, the app offers an even more extensive amount of paid filters and other options. Share your creations on social media or email, or simply save them on your phone.
PicsArt Photo Studio
Developer: Pics Art
As the name suggests, PicsArt is more than a photography app; it also allows you to draw, make your own collage and create your own piece of art. It has a great number of filters, organized in various categories, such as blur, artistic, and pop art. The app also lets you enhance faces, including changing the eye color, fixing blemishes, and whitening teeth. You can upload your creations to the app's community, where you can also find inspiration from others.
