La Collection Privée Crafting sophistication With Ibtissam Saab

Moroccan designer Ibtissam Saab created La Collection Privée as an ode to fine jewelry. Saab only uses 18k gold, rare diamonds and gems of the highest quality in her collections; and is a qualified Diamond Grader and Gemologist by GIA (Gemological Institute of America).
Saab grew up in Monaco, where she learned and crafted her passion of fine jewelry and now lives in Dubai with her family. She recently opened a boutique at City Walk.
Saab told Saudi Gazette that Dubai was integral to her family in more ways than one even though Monaco is her second home. “We as a family wanted to be close to our cultural heritage and Dubai has given us the opportunity to embrace this wonderful cosmopolitan society.
As in any business, I am planning to grow and prosper and keep on doing what I love most.” Saab fell in love with the industry in Monaco while working with Chopard. “I had the opportunity to meet and interact with very influential people.
Working for Chopard in Monaco was a great experience and has helped me grow not only as a designer but also as a brand ambassador for La Collection Privee. My interaction with clients was invaluable and has helped me understand how to build long-term relationships with my customers,” Saab told Saudi Gazette.
Her jewelry pieces are designed for all occasions. “I have beautiful pieces that can transition throughout the day to evenings and others that are gorgeous statements and perfect for a special occasion.
The pieces I design are for women who are daring and elegant. Each pieces is to be made your own.” She said most of her works are regulated by themes and use only the best material and stones. “My favorite material to work with is Coral and I love anything with Emeralds, it is my favorite precious stone, it's various green shades and inclusions are magical and mysterious.”
Each piece represents a facet of a woman's persona. So what does the brand mean to her? “A piece of jewelry can reflect a woman's personality. It is all about how that piece is made unique and her own through her poise and personality. For example, I don't have one particular piece, however my first design was a pink sapphire ring set with black and white diamonds that I still have and still cherish. It is a representation of my personality. The brand represents to me something that is unique, elegant, and exquisite.”
When asked about the design process, Saab confessed her inspiration is derived from a multitude of sources and experiences. “My love for nature, culture, history and all the civilizations are reflected in my work.
I am a citizen of the world and my exposure to different cultures has made me who I am today and it is reflected in my work and designs. Most of my designs are unique and not mass produced.” “An Arab woman's style is elegant and original and her love for trends is wonderfully daring and expressive. I design with this in mind.”
