Prince Saud Bin Abdulmohsin, Emir of Hail Province, made the official launch Wednesday of a series of flour mills serving Hail Economic City, and praised the project's success in training Saudi staff. The mills, which have been operational since April, provide flour for Hail and other important provinces such as Makkah, producing 600 tons of flour every day. The Emir, speaking at the official launching, praised the Ministry of Agriculture for the standard of production and training of Saudi staff at the mills. Saudi youths entered a program through which university science graduates and graduates from colleges of technology and vocational institutes received three months of training plus eight months in Great Britain to study English. Fahd Bin Abdul Rahman Balghunaim, Minister of Agriculture and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Grain Silos and Flour Mills Organization, described mill workers as “highly efficient”. “Saudization at the grain silos,” he announced, “has reached the targeted percentage.” The total cost of the mill project amounted to SR142 million, resulting in a production capacity of 600 tons of flour daily, divided into 480 tons equivalent to 11,000 45-kg bags of flour, and 120 tons of bran, equivalent to 3500 bags of 40 kg.
