The Saudi Arabian Airlines' Egypt station has recently announced that it has achieved an extraordinary record in transporting passengers during the current year. The summer holidays and Umrah seasons have played important role in this achievement. Besides, other economic and tourism attractions in both Saudi Arabia and Egypt are behind this success. According to Tarik Katou'ah, general manager for Sales and Passengers Services for the Africa region, the record is really an unprecedented one for Saudia. “We have transported 789,322 passengers with an average increase of around 30 percent from last year. With this achievement, we have reached our target three months before the end of the year,” Katou'ah said. Katou'ah pointed out that SAA has prepared all its capabilities to activate its operational plans for its clients. “We have taken 398,404 passengers to Cairo, while we were proud to take other 390,918 on flight from Egypt. These big numbers were served through 3,705 scheduled and additional flights, some 731 more flights compared to 2007,” he added. Many airline carriers are usually accused of delaying their flights for one reason or the other. Saudia itself has been blamed for not sticking to the appropriate flight timetable.
