Bantug is Bowler of Year 2008

Once again bankable Jun Bantug, who works at Banque Saudi Fransi, displayed his bowling prowess to edge Ronald Bautista in a nail-biting match through one game shootout in the clash of the annual monthly champion's final round to add another laurel in his cap by bagging the coveted FBGR Bowler of the Year ‘08 title.
The showdown was between the top two finishers annual monthly champions, Class A, Ronald Bautista and Class D, Jun Bantug for the coveted title. Bantug and Bautista challenged each other by exchanging strikes but the breaks went to Bantug in the homestretch by scoring 206, including his 15 bonus points to beat Bautista who had scratch score of 201. Bautista finished as the 1st runner-up.
Meanwhile, the duel between the lowest two finishers, Class B Joe Ligon, with 5 handicaps, and Class C Robert Nallas, equipped with 10 handicaps, resulted at 174-166, in favor of Ligon to settle for 2nd runner-up and Nallas was placed 3rd runner-up.
The monthly class champions in each class, A, B, C and D played a six-game series scratch to determine the top five finishers who will play another four-game series scratch to determine the annual monthly class champions and runners-up respectively.
Wilson Bacala topped the six games elimination in Class A by posting 1,147 points and he was followed by durable Fred Dioquino (1,108), Ronald Bautista (1,077), Arnel Gordovez and Abdullah Amoudi.
Trailing behind Amoudi was Rico Feria who lost the game to Amoudi by merely 8 points to settle for sixth spot. In Class B, the topspot was taken by Efren Abuyo with 1,149 points and he was followed closely by Atoi Ramos with 1,146. Next to Ramos were Gigi Enriquez (1,130), Ric Tugonon (1,128) and Joe Ligon (1,114). Noli Ritual finished sixth with 1,057 points. Ariel Feliciano carded 1,085 to occupy the number one spot in Class C division.
Robert Nallas landed in second with 1,074 while occupying the third and fourth spots were Zaldy Torres (1,049) and Thong Asuncion (1,010). Rolly Cleofe snatched the fifth position by tallying 1,000. Pastor Rodel Canda secured the sixth spot with 975 points.
Youthful Richard Feria took the number one position in Class D by posting 1,094 points and he was followed by Jun Bantug (1,066). The third slot went to the only female player Fe Ricalde with 1,056 and she was followed by Ed Robillos (1,003) and Erwin Nacario (991).
Ronald Bautista fired 800 points after the four games in the semifinal round to emerge as the annual champion in Class A while veteran Wilson Bacala and Arnel Gordovez settled for 1st and 2nd runners-up position respectively. Bacala and Gordovez toppled 743 and 726.
In Class B, Joe Ligon romped away with the annual champion title by posting 750 points while Ric Tugonon who lost to Ligon the title by 2 pins secured the first runner-up by tallying 748 points and the 2nd runner-up place went to Efren Abuyo with 731.
Bankable Jun Bantug was crowned as the annual Class D champion. He scored 743 points and the first and second runners-up were Richard Feria (710) and Erwin Nacario (658).
Attractive electronic items were awarded to the FBGR Bowler of the Year and runners-up while the annual class champions received cash prizes and trophies.
