The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Call and Guidance has warned pilgrims of books, cassettes and computer programs distributed during the Haj season which contain material contrary to correct faith and Shariah. Dr. Muhammad Bin Abdul Mohsin Al-Turki, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs for Publications and Religious Research Affairs, said that employees on the ground surveying distributed materials and tracing their origins had discovered over 10,000 examples violating Shariah, and that steps had been taken to address the issue. The ministry has approved the distribution of 15 million books on Haj rites, plus audio cassettes and leaflets translated into 37 languages. The materials contain 208 titles and are distributed to pilgrims at the 12 entry points to the Kingdom. The distribution of materials, carried out by 131 employees, will take place before and after Haj and include a gift of a copy of the Holy Qur'an from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. Millions of copies of the Holy Qur'an are being published at King Fahd Qur'an Complex in Madina round the year. Besides, the ministry also distributes literature on the rituals to perform Haj and Umrah at Jeddah and Madina airports. – Okaz/SG __
