The Food and Drug Authority (FDA) in Saudi Arabia has warned parents to be on the lookout for certain types of baby bottle nipples which have been discovered to contain potentially harmful substances. The FDA said the bottle nipples exceeded internationally permitted levels of plastic ingredients which come into contact with food substances, and has asked authorities to withdraw the products from the market. Two companies whose products are available on the local market and have been identified as potentially harmful are: the Japanese Pigeon Company nipple, which is made of poly isoprene, and Chinese Milco Company nipple, which contains poly phenyl chloride, contrary to what is registered on the packaging which states that it is manufactured from silicon. – Okaz/SG __
