An orientation course has been planned here on Saturday for about 1,276 male and female students selected in King Abdullah Scholarship Program to pursue their higher education abroad. The objective of the two-week course is to familiarize the students with the rules of the countries and universities where they will study in order to avoid any inconveniences and also help them adapt themselves to the new environment. The first two days are devoted to the students accepted in higher professional institutions in Australia, Asia and United States while students going to Canada, Britain, Holland, Spain, Germany, Hungary, Austria, Ireland, Italy, Rumania, Poland and Slovakia will attend two-day classes immediately after the first batch. Dr. Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Mousa, Undersecretary for Scholarships at the Ministry of Higher Education, said the course has been designed to brief the students on immigration rules and academic regulations of the countries they will travel to. He pointed out that specialized lecturers have been selected for the orientation course. Besides, several foreign experts will also give lectures in the next fortnight, he said. – Okaz/SG __
