A Pakistani passenger stabbed to death an Indian driver inside his cab on Sitteen Street early Thursday morning, police said. The passenger had taken the cab from Sitteen Street for a ride to the downtown Balad area, according to preliminary investigations. Eyewitnesses said the cab suddenly stopped in the middle of street, stalling traffic for a few minutes. An eyewitness said that while the cars behind honked, a man stepped out of the cab, brandishing a blood-stained knife. He then went to the front of the car and stared at the taxi driver for a few minutes. A man on the street then approached the knifeman, talked to him and got him to lay down the knife and sit down. When the police came, the Pakistani did not resist arrest. A forensic team was seen inspecting the scene of the crime. The driver was found slumped dead on the steering wheel. Investigators are trying to determine the motive of the crime, said Col. Misfer Al-Juaid, Jeddah Police spokesman. – Okaz/SG __
