JEDDAH — The Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice (Haia) does not discriminate against anyone, said Haia Chief Abdullatif Al-Asheikh. He stressed that the Haia will take stern measures against any violator even if it was one of its members. He cited the incident when a number of Haia members attacked an Afghan girl and how the Haia punished its own members. He expressed dismay at how some people took advantage of the incident when four members of the Haia attacked a British man and his wife in Riyadh last week. He said the members are not infallible and they make mistakes and the most important thing that whoever makes a mistake will be punished.
