I am writing with regard to the article "Little Saudi girl ‘killed by abusive stepmother after she ate biscuit without permission'" (Sep. 5). This is a horrible thing, but it is not only the stepmother who is to blame. The father is also responsible. He was the one who took his children away from their mother. If he had not done so, the girl would still be alive. As parents, we must think about our children first and not about ourselves. He brought his children to a dangerous place with a very bad person and then he let his new wife mistreat them. I really feel for the poor mother. And it is appalling that she was only told about what happened after her child was buried. Regina, Online response II. This evil woman should be punished in line with the laws of the Kingdom. Child abuse is a serious crime and must not be tolerated. Furthermore, the father of the girl should be punished for failing to recognize that his wife was mistreating his children.
