DAMMAM — The National Anti-Corruption Commission (Nazaha) has accused the director of urban planning department at the Eastern Province Municipality of taking SR6.3 million in kickbacks. Several other employees were working with the senior official, who requested bribes from citizens who wanted the municipality to approve their land plots. The director was reported by one of the citizens after he made it clear to the citizens he would not approve his application unless he was given a bribe. The committee has been investigating the case for a whole year until it found strong evidence incriminating the director and the employees.
